John 3:16

John 3:16; "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

The other night I dreamed of Jesus, instead of it being so long ago it was in our time, today. I had never thought about this before but it got me to wondering, would it be the same as it was back then. Yes, I think it would be. There are prophecies that had to be fulfilled. There are people in this time that doesn't believe in Jesus, I have never been able to understand this as everywhere you look you can see the Lord. Everything the Lord created is in perfect harmony. Man has destroyed some of these things just as they did 2000 years ago. I would hate to think people would spit on Him, beat Him, and put a crown of thorns on His head today. People mocked Him and when He was on the cross they said if He was the Son of God to save himself. But He knew this was the only way, he suffered humiliation and a beating that tore His flesh.

Genesis 3:15; "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." This verse has the first absolute promise of God's plan for the redemption of the world. It tells us there will be success for humankind and God over Satan and evil. In this verse it tells there will be a spiritual battle between the woman's seed (Jesus Christ) and the seed of the serpent (Satan and his followers). It says that Jesus would be born of a woman. He would be bruised through His crucifixion. Jesus rose from the dead and completely destroy Satan, sin, and death for the deliverance (salvation) of the human nation. From this verse we know God had a plan, it didn't matter if it was a couple of thousand years ago or in our time.

Romans 16:19; "For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil." Believers should do everything within their means to guard their children from being exposed to deliberately misleading of sin and perverseness of this generation. Satan seems to want our children to know everything about evil and his ways. Repeated exposure to Satan's ways will lead many from the path of faith and obedience.

Matthew 16:21; "From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day." Jesus knew the only way for people to have salvation was through the blood of someone that had never sinned. He was the one to take all of our sins, inequities, and illnesses so He was crucified for all of us not just some. He knew there would be some that would never believe in Him but He was willing to die a horrible and painful death for the ones that does believe in Him.

I have thought about the way He was crucified and I thought maybe He wouldn't be crucified. But the Bible tells us that it is through the blood that we are able to have salvation. I John 1:7; "But if we walk in the light, as He is the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." So, it doesn't really matter in what time frame He was crucified, He would be crucified and His blood would be what saves us.

God would have made a way for Jesus to be crucified. I have thought the world today would be to civilized to have someone crucified but if that is the way God wanted it done that is the way it would be done. My dream was only a dream and I am so glad that it was.

Blessings to you.

I think that, while today's world seems 'more civilized,' we are just a mean and cruel as they were over 2,000 years ago. It is so sad that the beautiful creatures (humanity) God created are really evil beings that only thing of themselves...unless He is a part of their life! Thank you for this post. I must say "Come quickly, Lord!"

Great post. I have never thought about it in current times. I am just so thankful that Christ did that that punishment and die for our sins. Praise You Father!
