Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

However all of you will be celebrating the 4th I pray you will have a safe and happy day.

No matter what you will be doing or where you are I ask that each of you say a prayer for all of the people in our military and ask the Lord to keep each one of them safe.

I received the following and thought I would share it with you. I ask each of you to remember there was one Man, Jesus Christ who died for our souls and it is the men and women of the military that fights for our freedom here.

For all of our
military personnel, where ever they may be,
please support all of the
troops defending our Country.

God bless our Military who
are protecting our Country for our
Freedom.

Thanks to them,
and their sacrifices we can celebrate
the 4th of July.

We must never forget who gets the
credit for the freedoms we have, of which we
should be forever grateful.

I watched the flag
as I passed by one day,
it fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.
I looked at
him in uniform,
so young, so tall, so proud,
and with hair cut square
and eyes alert,
he'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men
like him
had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign
soil?
How many mothers shed tears?

How many pilots' planes
shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps
one night,
when everything was still;
I listened to the bugler play.

And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant 'Amen'.

When a flag had draped a
coffin
of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the
children,
of the mothers and the wives,
of fathers, sons and
husbands
with interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
at the bottom of the sea,
of unmarked graves in
Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

Enjoy Your Freedom
and may God Bless Our Troops!

If you remember from reading your Bible, it was when the Israelites obeyed the Lord that the wars were won. We need to pray for the leaders of our country for obedience. With the obedience of our leaders, we will win the wars.

Psalm 33:12; "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own in heritance".

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

I love it! But the part of this post that I like the most is your last paragraph and the Scripture in Psalms. Too bad we CHRISTIANS can't/won't/don't flood the leaders of our country with this and prayer, too!

It's been said so many times, but freedom ISN'T FREE! Many men and women have fought and died so that we may have the 'freedoms' that we have. One Man, Jesus, laid down His life willingly...so our souls would be free!!! No, freedom IS NOT free!!

Happy Independence Day!!!

Wonderful post Deane. I was in the Army many many years ago, I still have friends who are serving, some who have been to Iraq and some who are still there. I have to admit I don't always pray for their safety, today is going to be the day I pray for them, that God keep them safe as they fight for the freedoms we so often don't give a second throught to.

Blessings to you Deane

Going to church for five years in a military town was such a blessing for me. Getting to meet and become friends with people who serve our country as well as their families is such an incredible experience. It made it more real for me. I knew these wonderful people leaving all of the comforts of the USA and their families to go over and risk their lives. I knew their families who were left at home worrying and afraid. Children who missed daddy so much, wives who had to become a single parent. I thank GOD for each and every person who serves our country and for their families. Praise God we have people willing to risk it all for me and my family.
