There are times I have bought something and when I get it home it wasn’t what I thought it would be. I bought a set of pots and pans for the camper, I thought they were exactly what I wanted. I thought they were close to what I have at home. Wrong! The lids don’t set on the edge of the skillet and pans like I thought all do. These set on the inside of the rim and the food gets on them and when you go to wash them it is really hard to get the food out of the rim. It is so disgusting.
I am a short person so I always have to look for petite clothes. I am speaking mostly of jeans or slacks. At times even the petite jeans are too long. I am used to having to hem them but when I get a pair that is just the right length I am so happy.
Another peeve I have is when I buy sheets for the bed. I like the fitted sheets and now days most all of them are fitted. I will buy a set of sheets because it says ‘fitted’ but when I get home they aren’t. Then I have to try to put them back in the plastic bag so I can return them. This is an inconvenience to me but if I want the fitted ones I have to return them.
We also need to be aware that all labels do not really tell you what the product actually is or what it is like. They may say one thing but it may not be true. It should be as stated but isn't always, the law says a company can not be misleading but it doesn't always stop them.
Today when I was fixing lunch it just hit me, isn’t our decision about the Lord the same thing. The Word of God tells us the only way to Him is through His son, Jesus. John 14:6; “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.
It also warns of false gods and teachers. Matthew 24:24; “For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect”.
II Peter 2:1; “…Even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction”.
Are we seeing the writing and hearing the words?
When I read something on the products I want maybe I should ask the salesperson questions to make sure I am getting what I want instead of getting the false product. I need to be more careful.
When we hear someone say someone is the Messiah we should not believe. If we read our Bibles we will know there will be people claiming to be Christ but it won’t be Him. It tells us in Matthew 24:24 even the elect will be deceived. When Jesus Christ returns for the church all will see Him.
When we have a teacher teaching us about the Lord we need to know what they are saying is true. How can we tell what they are telling us is true? By reading the Word of God we will be able to know. If you aren’t sure you understand what you are reading you can pray for understanding and you can also go to someone you know is a Christian. Never be afraid to ask someone to help you, if they are a Christian they will be more than happy to help you because they want you and everyone to know the truth.
Just as I need to be more careful when buying something, I need to read the labels and ask a salesperson about a product; we need to know as much as possible about the Lord Jesus Christ and teachers that are teaching us, we are able to do this by reading our Bibles and asking a Christian.
It will be much better for us to do it now instead of waiting until our time on earth is up and find out we were all wrong about Jesus and/or the teachers teaching us. Were we taught right or wrong? If we were taught right we will be with the Lord. If we were taught wrong we will not be in the presence of the Lord. It is up to us to make sure. The Bible tells us to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8; “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord”.
I have enjoyed sharing this post with you. May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

An Awesome God
The Lord is so good. Have you ever thought about all the things He has done for you? Do you think it has to be something big to be from the Lord? Can it be something small He has done for you? No matter what He does for me I feel it is big.
Debi called Monday to let us know it was cold in our home; she goes out everyday to feed the cats and to check on the house. I don’t know what we would do without her. Thank you so much for being there to help us out, Debi and we love you. We knew we had Tuesday off so we weren’t too worried about it.
On top of that my little poodle, Peaches wasn’t feeling well and I thought I could take her to see the doctor Tuesday. She isn’t young anymore so I have a tendency to be over protective and get a little excited when she appears not to be feeling well but then I do that with all of my pets.
This is where the Lord comes in. We were able to leave Monday night instead of having to wait until Tuesday morning. God is so awesome.
James 1:6; “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed”. When we ask something of the Lord we should ask it in faith. If we have the faith that what we are asking will be done then it will be. If when we ask we allow ourselves to think the Lord may or may not do what we are asking, we are allowing our faith to waver. This Scripture is telling us not to ask with wavering faith.
When we left I just knew Dave would be working on the furnace all night trying to get it fixed. I was praying all the way home for God to let it not be real serious and that it wouldn’t take long to fix it. When praying I just felt at ease. We got home and he started checking the furnace out. The pilot was working so he knew there was gas coming in. He decided to go ahead and check the thermostat out. There was power from the furnace to the thermostat but the thermostat still wouldn’t come on. Because it is a programmable thermostat it has to have batteries for its memory, the batteries had died and the thermostat had lost its memory so it didn’t know what to do. He replaced the batteries and the furnace came on. It took only 15 or 20 minutes to get the furnace to go. What an awesome God. The house was warm before we ever went to bed.
The cats were fine and they don’t appear to have anything wrong with them from the cool house. Peaches was fine Tuesday morning, I have no idea what was wrong with her.
We are back up at the state park where Dave is camp hosting and I am even helping him some. I am sure there is something God wants me to do and I think I am getting to where I will be able to do it. I know He will be helping me and giving me the strength to do it for Him.
God didn’t have to help us but He did. I know He loves us and we have faith He will always be at our side and ready to help when we ask Him. I know He has helped us many times when we were not aware of His help until it was over. He is so awesome and I praise Him for all He does in my life.
Thank you for dropping by, I have enjoyed telling you what the Lord has done and is doing for me. May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

A Beatiful River
Most all the rivers are really beautiful, they seem to go on forever. Some of the rivers are clear as can be while others are really muddy but they all have their own beauty. In the rivers you can see many things, some are really neat while others aren't. You can see the bottom with the beautiful rocks in some of them but unfortunately with others you are doing good to see an inch or two below the surface of the water.
No matter what a river looks like, one thing is that it has water in it and if you are thirsty it will take your thirst away. That is if you will drink from it. It does no good if you don't drink from it if you thirst.
Psalm 46:4; "There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High".
The blessing of this river is that it brings God into the midst of His people. God being in the midst of His people must mean He loves each of us very much and wants to bless us with His grace and power. I really don't think any of us are able to comprehend exactly what God wants to give us. His love, grace, and power should be enough but He wants to give us more and more. All we need to do is love Him and obey His commandments.
Even when it isn't easy to do the things we know we should we have Him at our side and ready to help us and give us the strength to do them. The important thing to remember is, we have to ask Him. It is that simple and have faith that He will help us. That is all.
All we have to do is drink from the river and there will be a continual flow of His grace, glory, and power. There is no river like this one.
It has been wonderful spending this time with you, thanks for stopping by. May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord.

Do you have any idea what this river is? It is God's river and has a continual flow of His grace, glory, and power; this belongs to His faithful people. This river flows from God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This river constantly refreshes believers, the ones on earth and the ones in heaven. Revelation 22:1; "AND HE showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as a crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb". This river could actually be a river or it could be symbolizing the Holy Spirit and the life, blessing, and spiritual power that He gives.

God Is On My Side
Psalm 118:6; “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me”?
This verse can say an awfully lot to people. I have read this verse many times and it has meant a lot to me each time but when I just read it, it hit me, the Lord is truly with me. He loves me so much and He is with me, on my side. I feel like screaming to everyone, God is on my side. I believe I will scream it; GOD IS ON MY SIDE. What more could I ever want? There is nothing, nothing at all.
Psalm 46:1; “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”. I will take refuge in the Lord. I know He will be with me to give me help and the strength I need. I know He will never let me down nor forsake me. He will always be there. What does refuge mean? It means a safe haven, sanctuary, shelter, place of safety, and shelter. All this is what He offers us. What an awesome God!
This doesn’t mean I will never have any trials and tribulation because I will but I know the Lord will be there for me. When something comes up all I have to do is call on the Lord, He is waiting for me. Do you know how I know this, well, I have gave my life over to the Lord many years ago and this was a promise from Him to me.
We never know exactly how He will help us but He will. It really doesn’t matter how He does it, just knowing that He will and does help us in the time of our need is all that is important.
God desires to be close not only to me but to all of His people. He wants to help and comfort each of us. We can have trust and confidence in God at all times. This is important for all to know. Never think God is far off from us because He isn’t. God will give us the ability and power so we are able to face uncertainties. All we need to do is remember what He promises us.
GOD IS ON MY SIDE and IS MY REFUGE, always.
It was nice having you drop by. May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

The Ten Commandments
God came down upon Mount Sinai and called Moses up to the top of the mount. Moses went to the top as directed. Exodus 19:20; “And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up”.
This is where God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. These commandments were written by God Himself and given to Moses. These Commandments tell of God’s moral law for Israel and others. These Commandments are still required for New Testament believers.
The Ten Commandments alone will not get you to heaven; it is through Jesus Christ and His saving grace that allows you in to heaven. Breaking one of the Commandments can cause you to lose your place in heaven. God wants us to abide by His commandments.
Exodus 20:3; “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”. This means you are not to have anything before the Lord. Anything you would give first place to such as a spouse, child, parent, money, or animal would be considered a god of such. Believers need to seek and love the Lord with all of their heart, soul, might, and to rely on Him to provide all that is good for their lives. There is NO in-between.
Exodus 20:4; “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in to be anything at all made that you would worship. NO image is to be worshipped; the only one you are to worship is the Lord Himself.
Exodus 20:7; “Thou shalt not take the name of their God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain”. God’s name must always be held up with the greatest of honor, glory, and respect. It should never be sworn by, used in a cursing, or thoughtlessly.
Exodus 20:8; “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy”. The Old Testament Sabbath was the seventh day of the week and they were supposed to set it aside from the other days as a day of rest and to serve God. This was a day to be set apart too honour the Holy God. There have been six days to do work and the seventh day should be God’s, this day was blessed by God making it a holy day. This is a day we should remember, keep it holy, and for the Lord, the one who instituted it and was consecrated by Him.
Exodus 20:12; “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon thy land which the Lord thy god given thee”. To honour the father and mother is to show acts of kindness, respect, material support, and obedience to ones parents.
Exodus 20:13; “Thou shalt not kill”. This commandment forbids willful murder, the unauthorized or unlawful taking of life. The New Testament not only condemns murder but hate, which desires the death of another.
Exodus 20:14; “Thou shalt not commit adultery”. This is unfaithfulness to one’s spouse. This is an abomination in God’s sight. Because God does not like this it is condemned everywhere in the Bible. In the Old Testament adultery was punishable by death. In the church sexual immorality should never be tolerated and must be disciplined.
Exodus 20:15; “Thou shalt not steal”. This means stealing of money or anything belonging to someone else. A person must be honest in all dealings with people, cheating would be a form of stealing.
Exodus 20:16; “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor”. This commandment protects the reputation and name of another person. No false statements should ever be made about another’s action or character. When speaking of another person it should be in a just and fair way. A person should never lie about anything; the truth is always the best for everyone involved.
Exodus 20:17; “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing is thy neighbour’s. Coveting is to desire or lust for things that are wrong or belongs to another. A person should deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, there is a need for living soberly, righteously, and godly in the world we are living in today.
As I said in the beginning obeying these commandments alone will not get you to heaven. The only way to the Father and heaven is through Jesus Christ. These commandments need to be followed and lived. God would never give us commandments that can not be followed and lived. These are holy commandments God wrote Himself. It may not be the easiest to follow some of them but with God all things are possible, just pray to the Lord. He is always there to help.
