Tell The World

Jenifer and Jeremy were taking their son, Jeremiah to get his baseball picture taken and wouldn't you know it, a flat tire. Jenifer called Dave so Dave and I went to lend them a hand. I think it was a wrench they couldn't find to change the tire and we live not to far from where this happened.

A patrolman stopped and Jeremy told them they had help coming and told the patrolman where they were headed. The patrolman offered to take Jeremy and Jeremiah on to the place to get Jeremiah's picture taken and Jeremy told him he wasn't going to leave his wife with three kids out on the highway so the patrolman offered to take Jenifer and Jeremiah so Jeremiah wouldn't miss out on his baseball picture.

I told Dave the patrolman must be a family man and knows how important things like this can be. I just thought it was so nice of this patrolman. Perhaps he wasn't even married but he had compassion.

The other three kids, Lylea, Gracie, Zack, and I started talking about the Lord and school. Lylea said one of her friends at church had said it was really bad in schools. I feel for these kids going to school these days. If they are Christians they can't or aren't even supposed to talk about their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, if they do then they are usually reprimanded for it. What a dishonor to our Lord.

They have taken the Lord out of almost everything now days; out of school, out of government, and even out of some homes. I don't understand how we have let this happen. I believe there are more people knowing the Lord than not and yet we have just set back and let the ones that don't know and believe in God take Him out of everything. It seems these people are fighting harder for Satan than what we Christians are for God. What is wrong with us? Do we care or do we just think there are other Christians out there that will do something about it? We, me included should be ashamed of ourselves. Where would we be today if Jesus would have said there surely is someone else out there that will take all the punishment, humiliation, and death so I don't have to do it. We would be in a terrible mess. We are headed that way now because no one seems to care what people are doing. They don't seem to care or mind if they take God out of everything. Well, every single one of us should care and we should get off of our duffs and start doing something about it. If we wait it is going to be TOO LATE.

Dave and I are very fortunate, we have three doctors we go to and they are all Christians, we are free to talk about the Lord anytime we wish. Larry, the veterinarian for our animals in Topeka is a Christian and we talk about the Lord lots of time. We have discussed about God being taken out of everything. It is a great pleasure to be able to talk about the Lord when we want to. But if we continue to stand by and let others dictate to us about the Lord we may not always be able to do this.

I am tired of standing by, I have decided I am going to talk to others about the Lord more and invite all of you to do the same. After all John 3:16 says; "For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
We owe the Lord more love, respect, honor, praise, and glory than what we can ever give Him for what He has done for us. He not only has done but continues to do for us every single day. We will never be able to repay Him for what He has done and will do for us but we sure need to try our best to do everything possible that we can.

Dave was just on face book, he had been sent a message from a niece of ours and on her page it says: "I BELIEVE IN GOD, never panic, just pray". How awesome of you, Rachel! Now this is what our world should be doing, acknowledging God.

I am so glad I was given the opportunity to talk with Lylea, Gracie, and Zack because it has gotten me fired up on the Lord again. Perhaps God had all of this planned, I don't know but I am going to let people know where I stand when it comes to the Lord and invite them and all who reads this post to take a stand with me.

Thank you, God for all of your love, compassion, understanding, grace, mercy, and your precious Son, Jesus Christ and I love you.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Seek The Lord

Psalm 119:10; "With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments".

David sought the Lord with all his heart, have you sought after the Lord with all of your heart? Nowhere in the Bible does it tell us if we seek the Lord it is in vain. On the contrary it tells us in Matthew 7:7; "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you".

By asking, it expresses our consciousnesses of the need and belief God hears our prayers.

We need to seek the Lord daily in all that we do, not just when we want something. When we seek the Lord we are earnestly petitioning along with obedience to God's will. We should always seek the will of God for He knows what is best.

Knocking suggests urgency in coming to God when He doesn't respond or answer our prayers as quickly as we think He should. Remember things are in God's time not ours.

Above all things we are to seek God and His kingdom. When we do this we are recognizing the goodness and love of God. We will pray in accordance with His will meaning we will want what He wants for us. I John 5:14-15; "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hearth us: v.15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him".

We need always to fellowship with the Lord. Some may not see the importance of this but it is necessary just as you fellowship with your spouse or children.

Obeying the Lord is essential in our walk with the Lord. When we obey the Lord it shows just how much we love him. Loving Him means we want to please Him.

Once we have found the Lord and given our life to Him, there is nothing wrong with asking the Lord to keep us in His hands. Asking Him to guide us in our everyday life is so important. There are people in the world working for the evil one just as there are people working for the Lord to bring lost souls to Him. We never want to wander off from the Lord and His commandments. David asked the Lord to keep him from wandering from His commandments; it will help us if we ask the Lord to keep us from wandering away.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Why Should We Hate Sin

II Corinthians 7:1; "HAVING THEREFORE these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God".

Paul has said one cannot claim the wonderful and gracious promises of God without separating oneself from every sin of the flesh and spirit. This means sins committed with the body and spirit, we have to cleanse ourselves from the dirtiness of both of these. We can do this by making a clean break from them. A person needs to get rid of anything that would hinder them from living a righteous and holy life, having nothing around to make all of this filthiness a desire to them.

A person must hate all sinful deeds of the body and spirit; they need to run from them. The more a person hates these sins the easier it is to get away from them. If you need help there is One that will help you, all you have to do is call on Jesus Christ. Leaving sin behind is not always easy but with Jesus it can be done.

If one cannot leave all this behind it may explain why some have lost their Christian joy, John 15:11; "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full".

You may feel you have lost your divine protection, John 17:15; "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil". Jesus pleads their case for them as He knows what the world is like. Jesus wants safety for everyone.

Do you feel your prayers are not being answered? John 15:7; "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you". Abiding in Jesus is the secret to answered prayers. The more we strive to be near Christ through prayer and studying the Word and have unity with Him the more our prayers will be in line with the nature of Him, wanting what He would wants for us.

Have you felt like you have lost the presence of God? John 14:23; "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him". When we truly love Jesus and will obey His words, we will experience the instant presence and love of the Father and Son. A person must realize the Father's love is conditioned on one's love for Jesus and their loyalty to His Word.

Compromising with the world means to lose the presence and promises of God. This is why we should leave sin behind even if this means ridding ourselves of things we enjoy. The joys on earth are nothing compared to what is in store for us when we reach our permanent home in heaven.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Two Kinds Of Wisdom

James 3:17; "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits. without partiality, and without hypocrisy".

True wisdom is a gift of God. It is pure: serious of holiness both in our heart and life.

This wisdom from above is peaceable, the ones possessing this wisdom do all they can to preserve peace.

Wisdom from above is gentle. This means not being overbearing or rude in speaking. Not to be harsh or cruel, watching ones temper.

This wisdom is also open to reason. There is an easiness to yield ourselves to the true beliefs of God's word.

There is mercy in the wisdom from above. We are able to forgive those who have offended us. We are able to help those who are in need.

This wisdom does not change or hide itself. There is no deceit; it is sincere, open, and consistent. Godly wisdom will go on to sow fruits of righteousness.

I Corinthians 1:20; "Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world"?

The wisdom of the world is one that fails to include God. It gives importance to the self-sufficiency of humans, making man the highest of authority and refuses to be aware of God's revelation of Jesus.

God calls this type of wisdom foolishness. People having the wisdom of the world have failed to look for the truth or come to know God.

When believing in God, one must build up a godly contempt for both human wisdom and a secular view of worldly wisdom.

Wisdom of the world has nothing to do with God so one must stay away from the views of the world. Not doing this Satan will have a chance to move in on us. Letting oneself believe just one view can open the door for Satan. We need to be very careful.

I would much rather have the wisdom of God than the wisdom of the world. It is in God that I can find love, comfort, mercy, grace, and power. The wisdom of the world offers me none of these things. Which would you rather have?

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Where Did Our Breath Come From

Have you ever wondered where your breath came from? There is a very simple answer.
Genesis 2:7; "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul". Life was given to human beings through a special act of God. It was God that gave life and breathe to humans. This makes God the vital cause of human life.

God didn't stop there. In Genesis 2:21-22; "And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; v. 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man". Eve received her life from God through Adam. This was the beginning of human life but it doesn't stop there.

God had plans for the earth He had just formed with all things in it. It was to be inhabited by people so the story of other life does begin. To us it may seem like such a long time but to God it isn't. II Peter 3:8; "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day". We look at time differently than God; He views time from the prospect of eternity while we look at it as earthly time. What we think would take a thousand years to accomplish God can do in one day, although it would take us longer, much longer than a day.

When Jesus was nailed to the cross taking our sins upon Himself, with a loud cry He breathed His last breath. John 19:30; "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost". All the sufferings and agonies he went through providing redemption for fallen humanity were over and His work was completed. He took the punishment for our sins and now the way for our salvation was opened.

After the fulfilling of the Scriptures God gave Jesus back His breath guarantying His work of salvation was completed. Matthew 28:6; "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay".

The day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit breathed on the disciples. Acts 2:2; "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting". We, as children of God have this same Holy Spirit helping us.

Each person born has been given the breath of life. It all started with God giving breath to a man, being Adam, formed from dust. Each breath we take, on the average of 20 times a minute, we have that many blessings. Each breath we take is a blessing from God. We are alive and able to serve a mighty God.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!
