Being Angry

It is easy to become angry, something we should not do. I feel Satan is watching for a chance to be 'Johnny on the spot' you might say. He certainly was with me today. I am ashamed of myself for allowing him get the better of me but I did. I can think of a lot of reasons why I let myself become angry but not one of them is a valid excuse. I allowed Satan to win and that is all there is to it.

James 1:19; "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath".

Dave and I were at the store and we were at the checkout counter, the sackers will usually ask if you want plastic or paper. I always want my groceries put in a paper bag. The sacker is an elderly man and has always been determined to do what he wants and will never ask which a person wants; he just put the groceries in plastic. I normally watch and tell him I want the groceries in a paper bag but I wasn't paying any attention. So, it was really my fault although the man knows us and knows we want the paper bags used. That still is no excuse but I still became angry.

Jill asked if I needed some paper bags and I told her yes since the man wouldn't put them in paper for me. She told me to just take a couple of bags for the inconvenience. I apologized to her for getting angry but I should have apologized to the sacker also but I didn't. I just looked at him. He knew he had upset me but he didn't seem to care at all.

When we were going to the car I told Dave I was ashamed of myself for getting angry and I knew the Lord wasn't happy with me. Naturally, I immediately asked the Lord for His forgiveness. James 1:20; "For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God".

Had I just paid attention to the sacker when he started to put the groceries in a plastic bag I could have requested paper and none of this would have happened. We really need to be watching as Satan is near by and will put his foot in the door ever chance he gets. In I Peter 5:8; Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour". The believer has been delivered from his power, but as roaring lion he remains a threat to believers, he seeks to destroy them. Anyone that abandons the protection of God, Satan can spiritually destroy them. It is our faith in the blood of Christ, our spiritual warfare by the Spirit, and of course our prayers to God that we are equipped to defeat Satan's plans, and we can defy him and we must stand firm in faith.

Remember what I John 4:4 says to us; "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world". It is through the Holy Spirit that we can overcome the evil in the world, Satan, sin, temptations, trials, sorrows, and false teachings. We can successfully accomplish God's will for our lives. We need to be watchful and continue in prayer for God to watch over us. When we feel ourselves getting angry we should remember it is because of God, the Holy Spirit that we can overcome this.

May you always feel the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

My sister, Barb is not doing well. I heard from Mike, her oldest son and he has said even though she is somewhat better than Saturday she is not doing very well. They have to keep her sedated because of her condition.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and I am asking you to continue praying for her. Blessings to each and every one of you.

When We Pray

When you ask the Lord for something in prayer is it amiss?

James 4:3; "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts".

God will not answer prayers of those who are selfish, ambitious, love pleasure, desire honor, power, or riches. Is your heart filled with selfish desires?

Psalm 34:15; "The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry". The eyes of the Lord are watching all of us who live a good life. The Lord gives notice to them when they cry out. We can not live a life leaning toward worldly things and expect Him to answer our prayers. Living a good life means to live in a manner that is pleasing to God.

We need to keep our eyes on the Lord and our way of life a pleasing one to the Lord.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Psalm 118:24

Psalm 118:24; "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it".

The Lord has given us another day. We should feel every day the Lord gives us is a marvelous gift. We should always be glad when we are able to live another day, a day which we should live for the Lord.

Not every day is a good day but it is a day the Lord hath made and given to us. Rejoice and be glad. It is the things happening in the day that makes it NOT so good but we can make it a good day or a bad one.

I got up this morning and I was thankful for another day but the day bothered me. You see, we were taking Buffi, my cat to the veterinary and I knew she wouldn't be coming home with me.  She had gotten sick and her body was shutting down.  I have had her for 17 wonderful years and the house just won't be the same without her. I praise the Lord Larry is an awesome veterinarian that has love and compassion for animals and he gets to the point of loving your pets.

Larry talked to Buffi and petted her and you could hear the compassion and love he had for her. Then he left the room so we or I could spend some time with her. I thank God for a doctor such as Larry. Larry said Buffi had a good many years and she was tired and I needed to let her go. It is so hard to let them go when you love them so much. One of the things I will miss the most is when I would sit down at night to read my Bible she would come over to me and lay her head on my bare feet and go to sleep. There will always be a special place in my heart for Buffi and no one will be able to take her place.

I am an animal lover from deep down in my heart and I really get attached to my pets and they become part of my/our family. I feel the Lord has allowed me the privilege of taking care of His animals and I want the very best for them. I get angry when I see them being mistreated, I feel if someone is cruel to an animal they will also be cruel to a helpless and innocent child or even an adult.

The day has not had all bad things in it. Barb made it through the night. They took her off of the ventilator but had to put her back on it. She is semiconscious but is doing some better. They have raised her blood pressure some and the nurses and the doctor have said she does look better. Her chances are up to fifty-fifty. The Lord is with her continually and also the ones that love her so much. I know the Lord has heard each and every prayer that has been said for her and I thank everyone of you from my heart. You are a blessing to me.

I pray for a healing for Barb and so far the Lord has heard my prayer. I know He loves her even more than I do, it doesn't seem possible but He does. The Lord is just that way and I praise Him for the love He has for each of us. I know He is at Barb's side looking after her just as He is with each of us. I thank Him and praise Him for His care for her.

When God gives us another day He is always there by our side to help us through the day. We sometimes need extra strength to get us through the day and He gives us His strength freely each day we need it to get through it. We just need to remember to rejoice and be glad in it. Hebrews 13:5; "...and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave nor forsake thee". What more could we expect from our Lord?

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!!

Hope You Enjoy This

This has been a stressful day but I know the Lord is by my side helping me.

Barb came through the emergency surgery but is still in critical condition and on a ventilator.  I know the Lord is right by her side and I ask Him to have His will.

I received this sometime back and I thought it was really cute. Since the name of God's blog is 'Who Is God' I thought it would be appropriate with some humor that is true. God is everything that is good and wonderful.

Wouldn't the following be great if every school were to teach about God?

A fifth grade teacher in a Christian school asked her class to look at TV commercials and see if they could use them in 20 ways to communicate ideas about God.

Here are some of the results:

God is like BAYER ASPIRIN
He works miracles.

God is like A FORD
He's got a better idea.

God is like COKE
He's the real thing.

God is like HALLMARK CARDS
He cares enough to send His very best.

God is like TIDE
He gets the stains out others leave behind.

God is like GENERAL ELECTRIC
He brings good things to life.

God is like WAL-MART
He has everything.

God is like ALKA-SELTZER
Try Him, you'll like Him.

God is like SCOTCH TAPE
You can't see Him, but you know He's there.

God is like DELTA
He's ready when you are.

God is like ALLSTATE
You are in good hands with Him.

God is like VO-5 HAIR SPRAY
He holds through all kinds of weather.

God is like DIAL SOAP
Aren't you glad you have Him? Don't you wish everybody did?

God is like The U.S. POST OFFICE
Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet nor ice will keep Him from
His appointed destination.

God is like CHEVROLET
The heart beat of America.

God is like MAXWELL HOUSE COFFEE
Good to the very last drop.

God is like BOUNTY
He is the quicker picker upper; He can handle the tough jobs
And He won't fall apart on you.

I hope you got a chuckle out of these. You can say God is like every one of these. My God is the greatest, biggest, most loving, caring, helpful, and compassionate, forgiving, and the list could go on and on. There isn't anything God isn't except for evil as God is the Light. I am so glad I have Him and I hope you do too.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord! Have you ever stopped to think where each of these comes from? The Lord gives these to us.

He Cares For Us

I Peter 5:7; "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you".

God is always concerned about our troubles and afflictions, when we have these we need to cast them upon the Lord. He will take care of us and help us through all of our fears, cares, and concerns. We need not be afraid to give them to Him; He waits for us to call on Him.

Why don't we call on Him at the first sign of distress? Are we afraid to call on Him? Are we ashamed? Do we think it isn't important? Do we think we can handle our problems? These last four questions are some of the reasons why we may not call on Him but these should not be a reason at all for not calling on the Lord.

No matter what our problem is He will help us. He will help us through all things. He waits for us to call on Him. II Corinthians 13:9; "For when we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong..." It is through the Lord's strength we manage to get through our fears, distress, cares, and concerns.

Psalm 34:17; "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles". This means we are always able to call on the Lord, no matter what our troubles are. We should want to have someone help us in the time of need; we should never want to try to do this alone. With God's help it is sure to be easier to get through them.

I received a phone call late this afternoon about my sister, Barb. She has been in ill health for quite sometime. The Lord knows I am hurting and needing help to get me through this. I praise the Lord I have Him to help me through this. I am thankful for the support of my family as they all know the Lord; they also know the importance of God's will being done.

They have now taken her in for surgery but Rick, one of her sons has said they were not hopeful. I know if it is God's will she will come through this and make a full recovery. I want God's will to be done not mine. She is my last sibling so of course I want the very best for her. I have told the Lord of my request but I also have told Him I want His will to be done. I have comfort in knowing the Lord will take care of Barb as I know He loves her also.

I praise the Lord and am very thankful she knows the Lord and loves Him very much.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!
