Living Water

I hear people talking about different Scriptures and I think, why don't I know about that? I think I do know about some of them but perhaps when it is being talked about the person says it in a different way and I don't recognize it. Then there are the times I will read a certain Scripture and I don't understand it so I reread and reread it and yet I still don't understand it. Then at a later date I can read it and I will really get excited as the Lord has given me the understanding of it.

It was many years ago when this happened when I read John 4:14; "But whosoever drinketh of the water I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
I just couldn't get it through my head what it meant but like I said, the Lord finally give me understanding of the verse. I was really excited as I knew it was the Lord that had given me the understanding of it because I had so much trouble with it in the beginning.

The water Jesus was talking about means spiritual life. Why couldn't I get this through my head? I really don't know as it seems so clear to me now.

To drink of this water means we have to drink of it continually. Drinking of the water of life means we have to have a regular communion with Jesus Christ as He is the source of this living water. If the relationship with Jesus is severed we will not be able to drink of this water. Jesus is the one that nourishes our spiritual life. If we break away from Jesus, He will not nourish our spiritual life. The more time we spent with Him the more we know about Him and the relationship continues to grow and flourish.

The rivers of living water theory teaches us when the gift of the Spirit is given to believers, he will experience His overflowing life. Having this river of living water will flow out to others with the message of Jesus Christ.

God never wants us 'not to know' but I feel at times He will not allow us to understand a Scripture so we will read and reread and want to study His Word. When we really pray, read, and dig into His Word we find out so much about Him and also how to live our lives.

John 15:12; "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." If we love one another we know we have Jesus in us. Love helps us do so many things, it gives us compassion, understanding and gentleness as we deal with people. We should never be unkind to people and we should have understanding of their feelings.

Jesus gave us living water and now it is our turn to share it with others.

Thank you for stopping by and may you know the peace of the Lord. Blessings!

He Gives Me Strength

II Peter 2:9; "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished."

In our world today there is so much immorality along with lying, cheating, stealing and killing. Living in and around all of this we have to decide what way we are going. Do I choose the Lord and stay as close to Him as possible or will I live in this world and do the evil things? I will choose to do the things the Lord wants me to do and if that means I will not have the worldly things then so be it. I will not go along with what the world says is okay, I will not lie, cheat, or steal. I am building my life on the foundation of my Lord. As I have made my choice I know the Lord will give me the strength so that I can withstand the temptations of this world.

II Corinthians 12:9; "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." Grace is God's presence, power, and favor. This is a force, a heavenly strength, given to those who call upon the Lord. The strength He gives us is always sufficient for us as we live our daily lives.

We have to decide what we will do and be delivered from these things, this will be our deliverance and our destiny in eternity. If we reject the worldly things and the things people do to get ahead today God will rescue us.

A truly righteous person loves righteousness and hates evil. It is not enough that a child of God loves righteousness but we must hate the evil things. This is what God's Son, Jesus Christ did. Because Jesus' love of righteousness and the hate of wickedness is the reason for God's anointing Jesus. The Christians anointing will come only as he recognizes and has the same attitude toward righteousness and evil as Jesus did.

As we see lives being destroyed by sin and we experience more oneness with God our love of righteousness and the hatred of sin will grow.

The people who does not care for righteousness doesn't like authority that will restrain them from evil, nor do they want anything to do with the Lord and His Word. People not knowing the Lord would rather live their lives as they want. They don't want to learn what God is about. God is Love. I John 4:8; "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." They don't want to feel they have to love God let alone anyone else. We Christians love people. It really isn't hard to love, it is a natural thing for us.

The nonbeliever wants to live their life the way they want. They don't care how they live. As long as they get what they want whether it be money, clothes, houses, cars, or whatever, they don't care how they get it. They don't care who they hurt or what they have to do to get what they want.

The love Christians have is a genuine love and is accompanied by the love for God and the obeying of His commandments. Our faith overcomes the world and we see eternal realities and experience the power of God. We love Christ so much that the sinful pleasures, ungodly ways, the secular values of the world loses their attraction and we look at them with disgust and grief.

I would rather live for the Lord and love others than have all the worldly goods. I am happier than the ones that live in the world and without God. I know one of these days I will have all the riches I need. The riches are waiting for me in heaven.

Thank you for stopping by and may you know the peace of the Lord. Blessings!

A Peculiar People

I Peter 2:9; "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness in His marvellous light:"

We that believe in the Lord are set apart from the world in order to belong totally to God and to declare the gospel of salvation to His glory and praise. This means all true Christians are a chosen generation. We are one family which are a separate people from the common world.

We, true servants of Christ are a royal priesthood, we are separated from sin and sinners, consecrated to God. We are offering to God spiritual service and worship, acceptable to God through Jesus.

It is the Christians, wherever we may be that are an holy nation. We are God's peculiar people, we weren't always this way as we came out of darkness into the light.

I feel honored that God has chosen me to be one of His. At times when I feel I can't do the things He would have me do all I have to do is pray for His guidance. I know He will help me with whatever I ask. This doesn't mean that I won't have any struggles with whatever it is that He wants me to do but it means that He will help me.

Mark 10:27; "And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." I know He will never ask me to do something that I can not do as whatever He asks of me He will show me the way to do it. He will never ask me to do something that He won't help me with.

Being a child of the Lord we should go out and tell the world about the Gospel. We are to open the eyes of the lost that are blinded by Satan. Some people are lost and they don't know it and unless they are told about the Light how will they know? Satan is the ruler of the world and those that do not know the Lord are under his control. Satan works in sinners and the ones that are disobedient to the Lord. We need to turn these people away from Satan. It is the statement of the gospel with the power of the Spirit that will deliver people from the power of Satan and turn them to Christ. Knowing Christ and having faith in Him and asking for forgiveness is when they will receive forgiveness for their sins. Being forgiven and being delivered from the state of sin and Satan they will now have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit , they will be set apart from the world and will now live for God and be in fellowship with those of us that are saved by faith in Christ.

Whenever we feel we can not help someone that doesn't know the Lord just remember, what is impossible for us is possible with God.

If someone says you are a peculiar person just think to yourself "I am so glad I am a peculiar person as that means I belong to Christ." Praise the Lord.

Thank you for stopping by and may you know the peace of the Lord. Blessings!

Where Is He?

John 9:12; "Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not."

This is a man that was healed by Jesus of blindness that he had from birth.

After he was healed of his blindness the Pharisees questioned him. They wanted to know who had healed him and where was this man.

There was some discussion whether this was the man that was blind from birth. Some said no that he only looked like him while others having known him for a long time said this was the blind man from birth. It was the once blind man that finally said that it was him. He said that he was the one blind but he could see now.

The Pharisees asked him who it was that had healed him. The man told them it was a man called Jesus.

The Pharisees wanted to know where this man was that had healed him. They asked the once blind man "Where is He?"

This man could only say he didn't know where he was. This man had never seen Jesus as by the time Jesus had made the clay, put it on his eyes, and told him to go to the pool of Siloam it seems has though Jesus had left. So he didn't get to see his great Healer.

These Pharisees wanted to know where Jesus had gone. The Pharisees was always causing trouble for Jesus. They knew some people believed in Him and they didn't like this. They cast this once blind man from the synagogue. It was probably a good thing, if they hadn't this man might have been in danger of sliding back to the traditional ways of Judaism and be separated from Christ and the gospel.

Have you ever had something happen to you that could only have been from the Lord? Something that just was really amazing? If you have, have you given the recognition where it is due? Have you told people this could only have been done by the Lord. There are many things that happen to people that can not be explained or we give the recognition to someone else. God works in mysterious ways. He will sometimes use other people to accomplish what He wants done but it is still from God.

We may not see how it is done but we can see the after affects of what is done. For instance someone that has sinned all of their life but all of a sudden they have changed. We didn't see how the change happened but all of a sudden this person is loving, caring, considerate, and the language he/she uses now is pure. We know in our heart this person has accepted the Lord as their Savior and is now living for Him. It is through the grace of the Lord that we see the change but we did not see the change take place. This person will give the Lord the praise He so deserves for the changing transformation He has done in this person's life.

When God heals a person, we don't see the healing but we see the results of the healing. Yes, God still does healings this day and age. People just seem to want to give the acknowledgment to others. If a doctor heals it is because God has given him the ability to do so.

It is through the mercy and grace of God that miracles happen. God's love and compassion is why He does these things for us. We should always want to give glory and praise for what He does for us. The Lord doesn't have to do any of these for us but He loves us so much that He wants us to be happy. Never be afraid or ashamed to give our precious Lord the glory and praise He so deserves for all He does for us.

Where is He? Hallelujah, He is here with us. He lives with us.

Thank you for stopping by and may you know the peace of the Lord. Blessings!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's Day represents our love for one another. We have our very own Valentine and we love that person very much.

The one I believe we forget the most on Valentine's Day is God. If it weren't for God and His love none of us would be here. I John 4:19; "We love Him, because He first loved us."

I John 3:11; "For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another."

I John 4:8; "...God is love."

We are commanded to love one another. It isn't always easy to love someone but have you ever thought about God. How does He love us in the first place? We are supposed to obey Him, how many of us can say we have obeyed Him each and everything He has told us to do something? I sure wish that I could say I have but I haven't even though I want to obey Him at all times, I haven't done this. How many times have we helped someone that has needed help? Again, I wish that I could say I have helped everyone that I have known that needed help but I haven't. How many times have we been willing to go to someone that has appeared to be lonely? Well again, I haven't done this either but I wish that I could say that I have. The list could go on and on. You can see that I just haven't been the best person at all times. I am ashamed that I have not been the person God wants me to be. It is always easy to help the ones we know. I just wonder how God can continue to love and bless us as He does when we don't do the things we should be doing?

We will never and I repeat never be able to comprehend the type of love God has for us. No matter what we do or how we act God loves us. He may not like what we say or do but He still loves us. If He didn't, when we disobey Him, He would just throw up His arms and probably say "that's it." But that isn't what He does. We have read in the Bible about the times He has gotten angry but He didn't abandon the people, He continued to give them chance after chance to repent and turn back to Him. This is what He does for us today.

If we continue to sin against Him and never repent we will never have our heavenly home with Him. It isn't His fault though, it is ours and ours alone. When we do sin God has given us away to be forgiven. It doesn't take much except that it must come from the heart and that is to ask Him to forgive us and I always ask Him to guide me in whatever I do. I know if He guides me my footsteps will take me where they should go. I will also ask the Lord to protect my mind so evil thoughts will not enter my mind and take over my thoughts. God has never and never will leave us without guidance, the Holy Spirit is with us to help us and to give us all truth and to teach us. All we need to do is ask Him and He will help us. He is always waiting there for us to call on Him.

Remember always where love comes from. As we celebrate this Valentine's Day, let us keep in mind the perfect Love our Father has for us, steadfast and everlasting. Happy Valentine's Day, Heavenly Father, I give You my love and praises!!

Thank you for stopping by and may you know the peace of the Lord. Blessings!
