I Love My Defense Attorney

I wonder if any of you have wondered what it will be like when we are faced with judgment after we die. I have pictured in my mind what it might be like. When I do try to picture this it is never the same way twice. I do wonder what it will be like but I guess it isn't really important, is it? No matter what we will stand before God.

Romans 14:10; "...for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ". Not one of us will get by without standing before the judgment of Christ.

Romans 14:12; "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God". It doesn't matter what we have done we will give account to God whether it is good or bad.

Galatians 6:5; "For very man shall bear his own burden". What each of us have done will have to bear his own. There will be no one that will be able to share your burden.

I John 2:1; "...And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous": This means Jesus will intercede for us when we stand before God.

Christians will have Jesus by their side and will be our advocate.

The following is an article of Jesus being with us as we stand before God. It was sent to me via email and I think it is a neat story or whatever you would want to call it.

I Love My Defense Attorney

After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to an end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a courthouse.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor'.

He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

As I was setting down I looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt like I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in a full flowing robe.

He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room, I
couldn't take my eyes off of Him.

As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, "Let us begin".

The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell".

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as Satan told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at my Attorney who sat there silently, not offering any form of defense at all.

I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, "This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise".

When it was His turn, my Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench.

The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward.

As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty.

I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus Christ representing me, my Lord and my Savior.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, "Hi Dad," and then He turned to address the court.

"Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished".

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine".

My Lord continued with, "his name is written in the Book of Life, and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy".

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said, "There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all".

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips...

"This man is free. The penalty for him has already been paid in full. Case dismissed".

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I will win the next one".

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case"?

Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that has come to Me and asked me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, PAID IN FULL".

Is God Telling You To Pray For Someone?

Jenifer called Dave and me tonight to ask us to pray for a little boy that was hit in the face with a softball. His Dad had taken him to Urgent Care and they sent him on to Children's Mercy Hospital. Of course Dave and I started praying immediately, I know God heard our prayers and I know He heard the ones praying for this little boy on the softball team.

There are so many people and things in the world today that need to have prayers said for them. Prayer is one of the best things we can do for anyone and all should pray for one another daily.

Last night I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, I was praying for the Lord to let me go back to sleep as I was so tired. I know He heard my prayer but sleep still didn't come. Then I remembered about a post Jenifer, author of Sweet Blessings had sometime back that said if you couldn't sleep perhaps the Lord wanted you to pray. I started praying, I didn't know for what or for who but the Lord knew who of for what I was praying for. I was interceding for someone or something. Have you ever prayed for someone or something that you had no idea what it was about? I have several times and when I get done praying, peace is there and I just seem to be so relaxed. Isn't God wonderful?

After I prayed I was able to go to sleep and I also had a very peaceful sleep.

We don't have to know someone to pray for them. When a pastor in church asks you to pray for someone you don't always know them but because the pastor has asked you to pray for someone you do. God is a very important person and He was asking me to pray for someone or something, I had no idea what it was all about but I am so glad I prayed as the Lord had wanted me to. I will never know who it was or what it was that I was praying for but that isn't important, obeying God is the important thing.

James 5:16; "...pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much".

If the Bible tells us to pray one for another then it ought to be done. The Word of God will never tell us to do something that is not right.

The next time you are trying to sleep and sleep just won't come why not try praying? It just may be God telling you He needs you to pray for someone or something. Remember you don't have to know what you are praying for; the Holy Spirit will guide you in prayer.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Why Worry About Tomorrow?

It is so easy for us to worry about what tomorrow is going to bring that we forget to take care of the troubles of today and also to enjoy the happy things of today. There will be troubles in each day but many of them will work themselves out with the help of the Lord so there is no need to worry.

Matthew 6:34; "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof".

Each day has its own cares and grievance but it also has its own strength. We need to live each day as it comes to us. Let tomorrow take care of its self.

Matthew 6:27; "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature"?

Not one of us can add a day, month, or year to our life by worrying about what tomorrow will bring. Did your realize worry is the absence of faith. Instead of worrying we need to cast all our cares upon the Lord because He cares about us. I Peter 5:7; "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you". Isn't it better to let the Lord take care of all our cares?

This doesn't mean we are not to plan ahead but what it means is not to worry about it.

When casting our cares upon the Lord when we lay down to sleep we will have a restful sleep. Proverbs 3:24; "When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet". It is so nice to lie down and have a restful sleep instead of tossing and turning.

Remember worry is the absence of faith, it is better to keep the faith. Keep our faith and turn our worries and cares over to the Lord.

Here is a poem I received and I think you will enjoy it.
Why Worry About Tomorrow?

Why worry about tomorrow
And the rising of the sun,
Of anguish over past mistakes
That cannot be undone?

Why waste life's precious moments
On things that bruise the heart
When today is ours to fashion
Into a work of art?

Today comes but once, my friend,
It never can return--
So use it wisely while you can,
There's a lesson you may learn.

Let history record the past
And tomorrow come what may.
Be content to do your best
With what you have today!

Moments

Some things to remember, things that are very important and you will be so glad you have remembered them.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD! Hebrews 13:15; "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name". What happens when we give the Lord praise? Our whole body feels the presence of the Lord. Our praises help us to remain happy!

Difficult moments, SEEK GOD! I Peter 3:11; "Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it". We must turn away from the evil things and do good, we must always seek peace and hold on to it. It is the evil things that will cause us difficult moments so remember to seek after peace and hold on to it. Seeking God brings us into the presence of God.

Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD! Psalm 29:2; "Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness". While we talk with the Lord in our quiet moments is one of the best times to worship the Lord. It is at this time it is only you and the Lord. Worshipping our Lord is when we are able to feel His presence.

Painful moments, TRUST GOD! Psalm 62:8; "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah". We need to remember the Lord is always with us in our time of need, all we need to do is pray and trust in Him. When we have struggles of any kind we can be certain of God's presence. He will never leave nor forsake us.

Every moment, THANK GOD! Psalm 100:4; "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name". With every breath we take we should always be thankful and give Him praise and thanks. We should thank Him for His presence with us every day. Thank Him for what He is doing in our life and we should never forget to praise Him.

Who is God? He is God the Father; God the Son, Jesus Christ, the One that gave His life so that we might live; God the Holy Spirit, the one that leads us in all truth, Counselor, and guides us in our ways (if we let Him).

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!
