Are We For God

Romans 12:2; "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God".

Living for God means we should be seeking and doing the will of Him. We are living in a world that is full of evil that is under the influence of Satan.

We have to stand against the prevailing and popular forms of the world; we have to proclaim the eternal truth and righteousness of God's Word. Despise and hating all forms of evil but instead love all that is righteous. We need to refuse to yield to the different types of worldliness that is around us all of the time such as hate, filthy language, ungodly entertainment, envy, drinking, and immorality. These are just a few as there are many more worldly activities.

Reading the Word of God tells us clearly how He wants us to live and what His will is. Reading the Word tells us what our life style should be. If we are reading His Word we will know we should be seeking His will and doing it. When we do this we are for the Lord. If we want to do the things of the world we are against the Lord.

Which of these do you want to do? As for me I am for the Lord and I am seeking to do His will.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Living For The Lord

II Corinthians 7:1; "HAVING THEREFORE these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God".

We as believers need to cleanse ourselves from every sin of the body and spirit. How do we do this? We take ourselves away from every form of sin and ungodly compromise and we have to resist the desires of the flesh by putting to death the sinful deeds of the body. We need to continually hate these sins.

Hebrews 12:2; "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the same, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God". Our eyes should be looking to Jesus. Jesus is the source of strength, love, grace, mercy, and help. Jesus will help us to overcome temptation and suffering. He will help us to complete the work God has called us to do.

We learn these things by reading and studying the Bible. Our eyes should be on the Bible, reading and studying the Word continually. By doing this we learn what God wants us to know about being a Christian and what He wants us to do with our life.

We need to be looking for lost souls. John 4:35; "...Life up your eyes and look on the fields; for they are white and already to harvest". We need to go out and help the lost find Jesus.

We also need to be careful of the movies and TV shows we watch. So shows are so full of violence and sex. There are shows out there that are for families and you can find shows that portray love, comedy, or stories of a wonderful happy life.

I Timothy 4:7; "But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness". We should not listen to gossip. We may be hearing something that isn't really true or it may lead us to do ungodly things. Instead we should be open to Jesus' word. Luke 10:39; "And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word". We may hear the Lord giving us a message on what we should be doing. What is more precious than Jesus speaking?

James 1:26; "If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain". We should always watch what we say and also how we say something to someone.

I Timothy 2:1; "I EXHORT therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men"; If we are busy with prayer and giving thanks it will be good and acceptable in the sight of God and we won't have to worry about saying things that ought not to be said.

Ephesians 4:29; "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers". I think this verse speaks for itself.

Mark 5:20; "And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel". When we have good things in our mind and speak them we have no time for things that are not good in God's sight.

Ephesians 4:28; "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thin which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth". Our hands are very important. Some people steal because it is something they want but they are not really in need of it. We should never take something that doesn't belong to us. Someone else may and probably did work very hard for it. We need to work and help the person in need.

Exodus 3:5; "And he said, Draw nigh hither: put off your shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground". We should never go where there is ungodliness. We need to make sure our feet take us to places where God is. It is better to go to a church than to go to a bar where there is drinking, cursing, and smoking. At church there are Christians there you can fellowship with and have clean fun.

Psalm 51:10; "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me". A clean heart will hate sin and with a renewed spirit will desire to do the will of God. It is only God that can make us a new creature and restore us to true godliness. We need to be pleasers of God and not men.

Ephesians 2:10; "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them". Our bodies need to be clean and pure for our Lord. Our desire and prayer needs to be to live a life of holiness and to be acceptable to God. We need to draw closer to God and separate ourselves from the world. Our bodies should be presented to God as dead to sin.

I Corinthians 6:19; "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own"? Since our body is the home of the Holy Ghost it must never be defile by any impurity or evil, whether by immoral thoughts, desires, deeds, or things we see. We must live in a way that will glorify and be pleasing to God.

Are we living a life that is worshipping, obeying, taking His side against sin, standing for righteousness, resisting and hating evil? Do we perform works of kindness to others, are we serving the Lord, and are we being filled continually with the Holy Spirit?

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

John 3:16

John 3:16; "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

This Scripture tells us of God's great love for the world. God's love is more than enough to love the entire world. He doesn't love just a few people but the entire world. Even though we have sinned He still loves us.

God gave His only Son, Jesus Christ as an offering for sin on the cross. He chose to give, He didn't have to, He wasn't forced to but it was because of His great love for the world that He gave His Son.

We must have a sure conviction that Jesus is God's Son and that He is the only Savior for the lost.

We should want to fellowship with the Lord and to be obedient to Him.

We need a trust in Christ that He is both able and willing to bring us to salvation and to have fellowship with God.

God doesn't want anyone to perish; some simply forget the word is there; perhaps it is because it lets us know the dreadful reality of eternal punishment.

Everlasting life means eternal life, a gift God gives to us when we are born again. This is a divine way of life that frees us from the power of sin and our adversary (Satan) which removes us from what are simply earthly happenings in order for us to know God.

Knowing what God has given us shouldn't we want to return His love and have fellowship with Him along with being obedient? I know I love Him with all of my heart and I want to always to have fellowship with Him and to be obedient to Him. Yes, at times it is hard to be obedient especially when He wants me to do something and it is unfamiliar and I am not sure I will be able to do it. When I pray about it God will usually let me know He is right there with me to help me, if He wants me to do it He will give me away to do it.

Blessings to all of you and may you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

Reading God's Word

When you do your daily reading of God's Word, what do think? Do you say to yourself "oh no, I had better do my Bible reading" or do you say to yourself "it is time for me to read and learn more about what God wants me to know"?

When I first rededicated my life to the Lord I couldn't wait to read more and more but then there came a time when I thought to myself "I guess I had better do my reading and get it over with". Now, I love to read the Word. I don't understand why God wanted some of the things written down but I do know there is a reason for every single word that is in the Bible and I am so glad they are there. I am so thankful that I am able to read His Word and I know He is with me as I read them.

Oh yes, there are some things I feel is boring but there are some very, very interesting parts in the Bible. I have told the Lord how I feel and have asked Him to forgive me for thinking some things are boring. I also know when I feel this way that some day He will reveal to me when He knows the time is right why they are there.

There was a time when I was reading and studying the Bible that I was really surprised, as I was reading it was as if I was right there living that part of the Bible. When I was finished I felt so refreshed and I also felt the need to read more. It was such an awesome feeling. I have experienced this many times since then, I do wish this would happen every time I read the Word but it doesn't but I am still get enthused when reading.

Some people ask "why should I read the Bible"? Well, if we didn't read the Bible how would we to know the things God wants us to know and how are we going to answer the questions that we are asked? Going to Sunday school and church help us to learn but we would never be able to learn all the things we need to if we didn't put them all together, doing all three of them? We need Sunday school and church to help us learn but the reading we do when we are not in Sunday school and church is a necessity as we learn things from our reading.

II Timothy 2:15; "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". By reading His Word you will be able to answer questions asked of you or should you hear someone telling someone else what the Word means you will know if they are correct in what they are saying. You can see how important it is to know what the Word of God means and is telling us. I know God will be proud of us for reading His Word.

Even though we may think there are parts of the Bible that are boring there are some very exciting parts in the Bible also. We need to read our Bible every single day so that we spend time with the Lord. It is a comforting experience just knowing God has something for us to learn and be able to tell others about Him.

Blessings to all of you and May you always know the love, peace, and joy of the Lord!
