The Seven Wonders Of The World

If someone were to ask you what you thought the Seven Wonders Of The World are, how would you answer the question? I got the following in an email several days ago and I thought I would share it with you.

The Seven Wonders Of The World

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present Seven Wonders of the World. Though there were some disagreements, the following got the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids

2. Taj Mahal

3. Grand Canyon

4. Panama Canal

5. Empire State Building

6. St. Peter's Bailica

7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noticed that one quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. He asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.

The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there are so many." The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have and maybe we can help."

The girl hesitated and then read, "I think the Seven Wonders Of The World are:

1. To see

2. To taste

3. To touch

4. To hear

She hesitated a little and then added,

5. To feel

6. To laugh

7. And to love

The room was so full of silence, you could have heard a pin drop.

Those things we overlook as "simple and ordinary" are truly wondrous. This is a gentle reminder that the most precious things in life cannot be bought. God gave them to us.

I went looking on the web for the Seven Wonders Of The World and found out there are several different lists. Since the email had these seven wonders listed I kept them (the first seven mentioned).

James 1:17; "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning".

I chose the above Scripture because the Seven Wonders Of The World the girl picked are gifts from God. Each one has a significant meaning.

God is so wondrous and gives each of us so much. The girl was giving the Lord praises for what He had given not only to her but all of us. You may think of different wonders God has given us and they are important also.

Living in the world we are today, it is so easy to forget these gifts God has given us. Although the first seven Wonders listed are great and beautiful the second list of the Wonders are precious.

What would our life be if we didn't have these? We would have a pretty boring life. Isn't it awesome how God knew to give us these gifts so we could enjoy our life that He has given to us? He hasn't forgotten one thing we need and want. Praise Him for all He has given to us and what He will give us in the future. Sing praises to Him and Him alone. Hallelujah!

Thank you for dropping by and if you have something about the Seven Wonders Of The World, please feel free to live a comment. May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord.

That is awesome! How true! The real seven wonders of the world are those things God has given us, sight, touch, taste, hearing, to feel, laugh and love. So great!

I love what the little girl said. What we so often take for granted are really wonders - God's amazing wonders. I don't want to take any of His gifts for granted.
