Psalm 32:34; "When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring of the day long. v. 4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah".
David was describing the agony and penalty he felt for concealed sin. This is how we feel at times when we don't want to acknowledge our own sin. Trying to hide our sin can bring a loss of health, our peace of mind, happiness, and favor with God. We will experience guilt and inner torment. This is God's punishment for trying to hide our sin.
God already knows about the sin/s but He is waiting for us to confess them to Him. He wants us to take responsibility of what we have done and ask Him for forgiveness.
Psalm 32:5; "I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah".
When David acknowledged and confessed his sin to the Lord with an honest, sincere, and repentant heart God forgave him. When we acknowledge and confess our sins to the Lord with an honest, sincere, and repentant heart the result will be God's gracious forgiveness, and removal of guilt. We will feel His presence with us once again. Even though we are forgiven we must remember there are consequences to our actions.
When we sin we should always acknowledge it and ask the Lord with an honest, sincere, and repentant heart immediately for His forgiveness, we should never wait. Waiting only makes it worse and our hearts can become hardened.
May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!
I have been blessed with a wonderful husband of 55 years. I have two children, Debi and Ken. The Lord has blessed me with 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. What an awesome God we have. I love the Lord with all of my heart and am thankful for His love and forgiveness. I want to serve the Lord in anyway that He would have me serve Him, I know whatever it is He wants me to do for Him He will enable me to do it.
