Almost, or should I say some make New Year Resolutions. That is a fun thing to do as it seems to help some carry out the resolutions they make. For some it is to diet, to do better at work, not to go places all the time, go see Mom and Dad (grandparents) and then there are the ones that involve God. These are the really important ones.
I don't make New Year Resolutions anymore. When I did make them I just couldn't seem to keep them and it became such a hassle. For some it isn't that way and I am glad it isn't.
In church Sunday morning our pastor had some very good thoughts although they were not New Years Resolutions. They are something we should do every single day without having to try to remember them.
On every day, remember His message concerning sin.
We were all born into the world with an impulse towards sin and evil. We are all guilty before God because of our own personal sins. Sin has no place in heaven so sin means, unless the sinner repents he will not see heaven. Romans 6:23; "For the wages of sin is death;..."
Jesus is the one that come to save us from sin. John 3:16; "For God so love the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." It is through the blood of Jesus Christ that we are forgiven for our sins. Colossians 1:14; " In whom we have redemption through His blood, even for the forgiveness of sins:"
On every day, remember His message concerning love to others.
Matthew 5:44; "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." It is hard to love our enemies, the ones that hate us or use us, and especially the ones the persecute you. We can do it because we have the love of God in us and He gives us our strength. From experience I can tell you that praying for an enemy is a hard thing to do but after the first, the second time prayer for them is easier. It can also make a person feel so much better, we can really feel the warm of the Lord in us. Praise Him.
On every day, remember His message concerning prayer.
Proverbs 15:8; "...but the prayer of the upright is His delight." God accepts the upright and those who strive to follow Him. We need to pray at all times. Colossians 4:2; "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving." Prayer is essential to our fellowship with the Lord. When you pray, have you ever felt the warmth of the Lord? I have and it is a wonderful feeling.
On every day, remember His message concerning stewards.
We are to be good stewards of what God has given to us. Luke 12:42; "And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?" He can be faithful and obedient and always watching. Be spiritually ready for the Lord's return, no one knows when that will be so we need to always be ready and watchful. If we get careless and think God will delay His coming, we could depart from faithfulness.
On every day, remember His message concerning witnessing,
As Christians we should desire to witness for Christ. We owe it to the Lord and to ourselves. We need to remember what life is all about. Isaiah 43:12; "I have declared, and have saved, and I have shown, when there was no strange god among you: therefore you are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God." God wants us to witness for Him and by not witnessing we are disobeying Him. Of course if is our choice what we do. I am going to be obedient to God and I will witness for Him. What are you going to do?
On every day, remember His message concerning heaven.
Luke 85:11; "Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven." This is for the believers who truly attempt to live a godly life and righteous life. Our fulfilling His purpose in our lives is what God thinks as good.
The saved and righteous will be the ones going to heaven. We will be with the Lord, there is nothing else that we could want. There are many benefits in after for the righteous and saved.

What a great idea. Those are things we should think about, pray about and do each day.
Like you, I do not make resolutions any more either! Your ideas here are grand! Perhaps we need to print them out and post them on the fridge or something to help remind us daily!
I want to live for Jesus everyday, not just after the new year. I desire for Jesus to be my life, not my resolution.
Good post - thank you!
