Something Bothering Me

I would like to talk about something that has bothered me for sometime. I pray that you perhaps will have a comment to this subject that will help someone, even if it just one.

I really worry about the people that does not know the Lord. As Christians we know where the people will go if they don't ask Jesus into their heart and to be there Lord and Savior but I really don't think people that don't know the Lord realizes where they will actually be going. God wants everyone to go to heaven, He doesn't want anyone to go the fiery pit.

The reason this has really hit me again is because Dave and I met a man when we were going to cardiac rehab and we found out later that he went to the same church as we go to. He wasn't always there so we didn't see him for awhile. He had asked the Lord into his heart and asked Him to be his Savior. I praise the Lord for that. This man was called home, oh to be home where everything is perfect. Anyway this has caused me to think about the ones that have never known the Lord and the ones that have and appear to have walked away from our loving Lord Jesus Christ more than usual.

There are people that say they just don't have the time to give their self to the Lord and ask Jesus to be their Savior. I say; "You don't have the time not to." We never know when our time will be to leave earth, I know where I am going and I praise the Lord that my eternal home is in heaven with the Father. I certainly don't want to be anyplace else but in heaven.

Then there are the people that say there is no fun being a Christian. I am here to tell them that being a Christian is more fun than you can imagine. A Christian has so much love, compassion, understanding, forgiveness, happiness, and joy that they could spread it around the whole world, they could share it with everyone. When you are a Christian you have so much joy and laughter. Yes, there will be times when it gets really rough and even sometimes a person might feel like giving up but all we have to do is go down on our knees and talk to the Lord and give it all to Him. That is what being a Christian is all about. We have someone to talk to and to give our problems to, we don't have to go it alone, praise the Lord He is there for us.

Jesus said in John 14:21; "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." We have to be obedient to Christ although it will never be perfect we still have to do our very best to be obedient. When we realize we have not been obedient we must talk to the Lord and ask for forgiveness and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I feel the more disobedient to the Lord and not talking to Him and asking for His forgiveness and guidance may cause a person to walk away from Him completely (this is my feeling) and this would be worse for us than if we had never known before. I Peter 2:20-21; "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning." vv.21 "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

As I am concerned about the ones not knowing Jesus I am also concerned about the ones that have known Him and then appears to have walked away from Him and forfeited salvation. We can usually tell by their actions and words they say that they have walked away. I Peter 2:22; "But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

We need to be ready at all times and be working for the time when it does come. We can't just do it now and then. We not only need to pray for our loved ones, ourselves, but for everyone that doesn't know the Lord or the ones that appear to have walked away.

I am asking all of you to join me in praying for these people. If our prayers saves just one person, it was well worth the time we have spent in prayer.

Thank you very much for stopping by and may you know the peace of the Lord. Blessings!

You really have a heart for the unsaved and backslidden. It would be amazing if everyone would accept the Lord in to their life, but I know that won't ever happen. We must work diligently, day after day, to do our part to walk the walk and talk the talk. If we only talk the talk and don't walk the walk, then our talk means nothing! Living a Godly life in front of all who see us is really our only avenue...that and prayer, of course. I will join you in prayer for these people! Every soul is a soul that God has created!

As Debi said, you can see your passion for the unsaved. We need to let our light shine constantly and yes, pray for them. Thank you for this post.
