How Is Your Life

How many of us have ever acted or lived like we are something we are not? I believe at one time or another all of us have. Perhaps it was when you were younger or maybe you are even doing it now. I know when I was in high school there were a couple times I acted like I was something that I really wasn’t. I didn’t like the way it made me feel. I believe the Holy Spirit was working in my life so that I would know it wasn’t right. Doing this made me feel down right miserable.

Jesus warned the disciples of doing this. Luke 12:1-3; “IN THE mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. v.2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. v.3  Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops”.

Hypocrisy means acting as if you are something you are not. Being a hypocrite is being a deceiver. Living a life of a deceiver will make a person an ally with Satan, the father of lies. It may start out innocently but never the less it is a sin. Hypocrisy is just the opposite of what God is, God is truth.

Jesus warned His disciples about hypocrisy and hidden sin telling them it will be exposed. If it isn’t in this life it will be exposed on the day of judgment. No matter what is done in secret or behind closed doors, it will be revealed openly at some point. It is much better for a person to live the life they have, not a life of a hypocrite.

If a person is not satisfied with their life or something that is in their life they need to change it. A person should never act like they are something they aren’t. This means if a person is not satisfied with their relationship with God instead of acting like it is a godly relationship, they need to change it.

When a person lives in hypocrisy it is a sign that they have no fear of God and don’t possess the Holy Spirit with His regenerating grace. If a person continues in the state of hypocrisy they cannot escape the damnation of hell.

Why not examine your life to make sure you are not living in some type of hypocrisy?

I am glad you dropped by today. May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

I don't want to be a hypocrit (sp?). I want to live a life of integrity. I want to be the same person in private that I am with others. I want to be the ME God created me to be. Great post!

I desire to be completely transparent...what you see is what you get, so to speak. I don't want to have a 'secret' me life...I want God to shine through every aspect of my being! God created me and He doesn't create junk! Therefore, I AM NOT WORTHLESS! Thank you for this post.
