I Am Angry

It is this time of the year I become angry. Why? After all this is the time to be happy and joyous and I am in my heart.

The thing that makes me angry is it seems people want to take Jesus out of CHRISTmas. Why are they doing this? They don't want to offend anyone, well, I am offended that they do this but that doesn't seem to matter.

They say Jesus wasn't born December 25th but this is the day that has been chosen to celebrate His Birthday. The first time I heard that December 25th wasn't really Jesus' birth date I had a lot of trouble with it but does it really matter? Shouldn't we treat each day as the birthday of Jesus Christ? Luke 2:11; "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord". Shouldn't we just be thankful to God and give Him our praises that He loved the world so much that He sent a Saviour? I think so.

When I was growing up and when my kids were growing up and even when my grandchildren were really young everyone wished everyone a "Merry Christmas" but now they say happy holidays. The stores, all kinds of stores, want our business and make their ads enticing so that we will go in. They have things on sale so that we can't pass it up. I wonder what they would do if we Christians refused to shop unless they put Jesus back in Christmas. I think they would probably beg us to give them another chance, I would hope so anyway.

The government doesn't even call it Christmas break anymore they call it a winter break. Just like for Easter they call it spring break. The schools do the same thing. What is wrong with people anyway?

For Halloween the stores don't mind having witches and evil things put up in the stores but they just can't bring themselves to have things about Jesus in the stores.

The TV stations want us to watch their channel and they won't say Merry Christmas but happy holidays. They don't want to offend anyone. I would rather offend them than I would my Lord and Saviour. I don't want Him to be ashamed of me but the people, if they want to be ashamed of me because of Jesus so be it.

Mark 8:38; "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in glory of his Father with the holy angels". Are we going to seek to be popular or to be accepted by the ones that is trying to take Jesus out of everything or are we going to follow Him and be proud of who we are in the Lord Jesus Christ? I want to follow Jesus and be so very proud of whom I am in Him.

I for one am refusing to say anything but "Merry Christmas". I will show my love for the Lord in anyway that I can, if someone doesn't like it well that is the way it goes.

Thanks for letting me voice my opinion on what people are not doing for our Lord.

May you always know the love, joy, and peace of the Lord!

This is a pet peeve of mine and I could go on forever about it. I just recently watched a Christian movie called Christmas with a Capital C. Excellent movie. One every Christian should see. We need to learn to stand up and say Merry CHRISTmas. We need to learn to put CHRIST first, not Santa, gifts or anything else.

AMEN!!! I hate when someone say's "Happy Holidays." I don't mind them giving me a nice greeting however...I want to hear "Merry CHRISTmas!" I, like you, Mama, amd refusing to say anything except Merry CHRISTmas! I will NOT be ashamed of my Lord! I will proudly proclaim His name as I go through this season celebrating His birth!

Great post...wish we could put it on a billboard all over the world!

Right there with you Deane! It's an amazing double standard that the world seems to go out of their way to not mention Christ on the thought they might "offend" someone, but they'll step over themselves to show they don't discriminate on anyone else's beliefs.

In our home, and in our lives, we celebrate the birth of our Savior, and say with love... Merry Christmas!

Have a Blessed Day!

Deane,

I don't understand it, we will wish someone a happy Thanksgiving, a happy fourth of July even a happy Easter, but wish someone a merry Christmas and we risk starting WWIII but we are supposed to recognize other religions as to not offend anyone and go out of our way to show we do not discriminate but I think ignoring that Christmas is about all Christ is discrimination as well.

Blessings to you Deane

I so understand your anger, on my job they said we was not to say Merry Christmas bu itself unless we say Happy Holidays as well, well needless to say I don't say happy Holidays and I said Merry Christmas, I had customers who even asked me are you allowed to say Merry Christmas and I told them I AM saying it because I am a child of God and I will not deny my savior...and because I stood up for saying Merry Christmas I have meet so many Christians that I've waited on when they come into my store. they say I don't blame you and we can't take Christ out of Christmas just because man want us to...We as saints must stand for Christ even if it means your job...To deny Him is to deny salvation..Great post glad you posted it. when I get a chance you should read one of my posting I wrote asking people do they say happy holiday's or Merry Christmas...the link is
