Faith

Dave, my husband, and I have been in Israel several times. These were the most wonderful trips we have ever taken. Just to think we have been where Jesus had been and walked where Jesus had walked. I thought how exciting it would have been had we been living at the same time Jesus was living. Then my heart saddens to think, what would we have done if we would not have believed Jesus was who He said He was. This saddens me very much because as I am living today I know who Jesus is, that I love Him with all of my heart, and it is only because of Jesus that someday I will be home in heaven with the Lord. I am so glad I have the faith to believe in Jesus even though I have never seen Him, I know He lives in me.

Jesus' disciple, Thomas didn't believe it was Jesus until he touched Him. John 20:27; Then saith He to Thomas, "Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing." It was only then that Thomas believed. In John 20:29; Jesus saith unto him, "Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." I give all the glory and thank the Lord for my faith that I am able to believe.

Without faith we are unable to be saved. Ephesians 2:8; "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." This is an awesome gift to receive from our Lord. With the faith we have in a definite person (Jesus Christ) who died for us, shouldn't it become stronger with our everyday living? We should develop an intense feeling of love for the Lord Jesus Christ.

II Corinthians 5:7; For we walk by faith, not by sight.

I would much rather be walking by faith than sight. I am thankful I have the opportunity to hear, read and learn the Word of God. Romans 10:17; "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." God is so faithful to all who believe and obey Him. Why would we not want to walk with the Lord? I know our walk with Him is not always smooth but we have the assurance He walks with us and know whatever comes our way we will be able to handle it because of our faith in Him.

Even though I think it would have been exciting to live and walk on earth at the time Jesus was here, I am thankful I am living my life now. I know I have the faith to believe who Jesus says He is and I am thankful for my salvation.

What about you?

It only takes faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed! God requires so little, yet so many people refuse to give any at all! Thank you for this post today...I, too, am thankful for my faith and the grace of God. Love you!

The closer I get to God, the more I realize how much He loves me and it makes me love Him even more. God is so good!
